Coming Soon: Ogre Rampage and Danger Room

I figured it's time we start doing more of the news thing we promised to do on this site. First off, we have two new games in the works: Ogre Rampage and Danger Room. Both are working titles, but both promise to be great games. We've decided to start using bitmaps for our graphics. They cut down on memory significantly which allows us to make more complex and professional looking games. They also add a certain crisp look that I'm a huge fan of.

Danger Room Screenshot

Danger Room is the closest to being released. It's a small solo project I started to fill time since Eric's been busy with school. The premise is very simple, you play as a little guy in an orange jumpsuit who is trapped in a room full of turrets that fire weapons ranging from bullets to missiles to chainsaws that race across the floor. The goal is to survive as long as possible. The twist is that when you die, you earn experience points that you can spend to enhance your abilities (jumping, running, rolling, etc.). You play until you've gained enough skill to survive every level at which point you escape from the room. It should be done in a few weeks.

Ogre Rampage Characters

Ogre Rampage is still in the beginning stages. In this game, I'll be doing the artwork while Eric does the coding. So far we have a physics engine and the character artwork you see above. When it's complete though, this game is going to have multiple levels in which you play as the ogre, destroying medieval folk and ransacking villages. It features a unique control scheme in which you can control the ogre's arm to swat and grab at just about anything. The game will also be the first game we've made to have a serious story and cut scenes. Hopefully we'll have this game done sometime in the next two months. By the way, if any of you are wondering what happened to Avalanche 2, it's on hiatus until I get some new inspiration. If any of you would like to make suggestions for things you'd like to see in the next Avalanche game, feel free.
